CwG's most important message...

Neale Donald Walsch's picture

My Dear Friends...

I am often asked, What is the single most important message in Conversations with God?
My answer is quick and easy.

We are all one.

These four words summarize the 3,000+ pages of dialogue in the CwG texts better than anything else that I could say. If we could find a way to cause these words to become the mantra of our world, to have them embraced by every society and culture, we would end all suffering, all wars, all class struggles, all hunger and violence, and all poverty on this planet – just as we do in our own families.

No family would let a member die of hunger. No family, except a severely dysfunctional family, would use violence among its members to solve the difference that arise within it.

The human family is severely dysfunctional. We all belong to the same species, yet we treat each other as if our interests are not mutual. We ignore each other and let each other suffer, we fight with each other and kill each other. Yet, to be fair, that is only one side of the coin. We also care for each other and help each other. We work with each other and cooperate with each other and stand with each other in times of calamity and stress.

I am issuing an invitation now for us to stand with each other again. And this time, forever, not just for the moment. This time, all of us, not just some of us.

Humanity's Team is working hard to create a way for us to do so. This global organization seeks only to send – and encourage others to send – a single message:

We are all one.

As we move toward the end of 2008, in a world that is teetering on the brink of environmental, social, spiritual, political, and financial upheaval, we can still turn the tide, alter our course, shift our direction. Yet we can do this only if we join together in common cause. For it is today even as it was when U.S. President John F. Kennedy said it: “Divided, there is little we can do. Together, there is little we cannot do.”

Now you may not believe that something as simple, something as “non-complex”, as a citizen movement can change the world. Yet when you think about it you realize that nothing else ever has.  Gandhi created a citizen movement. Martin Luther King Jr. created a citizen movement. Lech Walesa created a citizen movement. Gloria Steinem created a citizen movement.

These movements – which gave birth to a nation, brought basic civil rights to a race, freed a people, and ignited the shift of women to a place of equality around the world – all began with a simple device: consciousness raising.

The movements began with a basic premise: When people understand a situation thoroughly, they overwhelmingly do the right thing. When people become truly aware, they become truly wise.

This premise underlies the latest of humanity’s movements, which we have called Humanity's Team. It is a civil rights movement for the soul, freeing humanity at last from the oppression of its belief in a violent, angry, and vindictive God; a God who is Separate from humanity, and therefore in judgment of it.

Our belief in a judging God is what has justified our behavior as a judging species. We judge each other and find each other guilty of all manner of things. And, having found each other “guilty,” we condemn each other and punish each other, using what we presume to be God’s Word as our moral authority.

While this clearly has not worked, we continue to try to live within this framework. Yet what is needed is a New Cultural Story for Humanity. A Cultural Story of Oneness, of Unity, and of a Loving God who would never judge or condemn anyone, but seek only to raise our consciousness to a level of awareness that would allow us to see each other as God sees all of us: as wonderful, caring beings who seek only to love in fullness and to live in peace.

To love in fullness and to live in peace.

This is the goal of all members of Humanity’s Team. It is the natural desire of all human beings. All of us wish to do so – and we vow that we would, if only we knew how. Yet the “how” of it is easy. It is the simple embracing of the singular truth:

We are all one.

Dreams, experiences and gratitude.

My dream;

To join with people who respect each other in balance with their Creator, the Universe, the Earth, all creatures, all humans, all groups from the largest right down to the family groups and their self…. All in balance.

My dream is to be able to look at a person, to hug them, to love them, and to do so without anyone getting ideas or thoughts stimulated by animal behavior.

My dream is to join with people who can, and do, trust me and I can, and do, trust them. I love people who say what they mean and mean what they say – I am searching for a place where love is respected, nurtured, protected, and reciprocated. A place where pure love (Agape) is understood and practiced at all times. (unselfish love of one person for another without sexual implications; brotherly love.)

My dream is to be a part of a group that gives what religions, governments and most groups promise in their manipulations to elude people into their traps - Truth, communication, service, cooperation, respect, dedication, diligence, logic, fairness, equality, prosperity. (Note: Communication is a two-way action.)

I have studied people, to include myself, and groups - religions, cults, clubs, governments, mafias, rebel groups, gangs, druggies and drug dealers, bar bouncers drunks and moonshine runners, rioters and peaceful demonstrators, homeless, the wealthy and the poor, police, military of many countries, corporate executives, small businessmen, rock and roll groups, and more…. When I refer to studying them, I do not mean in books… I have had first hand experience with nearly all in one way or another. My point is that I understand them all and I know their motives and their methods.

Such is the life of a person who has a huge appetite to understand all people. I have talked with many people of many types, all contributing to my knowledge. You might be amazed at what can be learned from a homeless person, or from people like the “Dead-Heads” – the followers of the rock group The Grateful Dead – or from the group members themselves… Yes I have talked with them, though they are difficult to understand with their thick accents and slang expressions. I had the experience of being a guard at a concert here in Utah. I happened to be the closest guard to them – just over their right shoulders to keep the audience from getting behind them as they performed. I joined them for refreshments after the concert and I will always savor that great experience.

I do not savor my riot experience, but I learned from it. I drove a truck transporting 101st Airborne troops into Washington D.C. to stop the riots resulting from the death of Martin Luther King. I was 19 years old at that time. Too young to vote, but not too young to learn the realities of life when people are divided and driven by animal behavior. It is one thing to see these things on television and quite another thing to have looked the police in the eyes while they were running to the troops as we arrived to save them.

As for the alcohol experience – I have been the drunk and later I was the bar bouncer… I now do neither, but I understand both. Alcohol is a great stupidity stimulant, and so are the other drugs. Stupidity does not promote solitude – knowledge and wisdom do.

Mr. Neale Donald Walsch – I salute you! I have felt many of the same heartaches that you have felt. I know that you are balancing in your giving, and in your sustaining your own life so that you can continue to give. For those who want Mr. Walsch to give more information without cost, please realize that human nature would use him up and never give back to him. That is why he has to earn money by selling his books. He IS giving and sharing and you should be grateful for that, and not expect him to give it all away. As for those who might ridicule him – I hope you learn the truths soon and stop fighting that which is good. We (Those who know) understand that humans have been trained and programmed to resist the good and to accept the bad… There is a growing movement to remedy that injustice, which has contaminated the minds of so many. Neale is helping this in a big way, and I am doing all that I can, while there are many others.

I am grateful to Neale for the free information he gives and websites he has funded. I have not been financially able to purchase his books, but I get great benefits from what I can learn without purchasing them. Having studied many other people who are on the “same page” as Neale is, helps me greatly.

I am interested to know what Neale has to say about the ups and downs in life – I am recovering from a down time now, just as Neale had to do after a divorce – if I understand his story correctly. Yes Neale, I understand – but I only had 3 divorces and I think you sunk a bit lower than I did… I had a pickup truck to live in… Now I am in an apartment with a place to bathe and that is great! Nothing like having to do without to help you appreciate the little pleasures in life.

May peace find a place on Earth and may many join together there in celebration.

Neale!

I am so glad to have become a part of this humanity's team and can now connect with people who are on the same spiritual awareness as I. I love the message that we are all one and I am applying that to my daily life. It makes life so much easier----instead of the mindset of us againts them or that God is there and we are over here----we are all connected, all one, all part of this amazing thing called the eternal journey of the soul. And I cant wait to see what else this journey has in store for me.

I love you all----Wink

CwG's most important message

Husee's picture

I have to admit though, when I first read the "We are one" messages I didn't feel I should keep my focus on it. It felt right and explained so much but I didn't feel it helped me directly with my problems. I was more interested in finding ways to make money, to feel happy, to find answers to world problems work from home.
I was "wowed" by so many of the other messages.

Over the last 3 years one thing has remained consistent. Applying each one of the other messages of CwG have eventualy led me to failure and returned me to the same message, " there is only one of us".

If I was to rank the insights 3 years ok, "there is only one of us" would ranked somewhere close to the top. Yet for some reason I would place most of my energy on other messages
being, doing, saying and then thinking stocks,
being joyful and peaceful,
Feeling love,
Surrendering my thinking mind.
To get what you want, give away what you have.
don't expect anything
what you resist persists.

Yet none of these ideas worked without applying and remembering there is only one of us.

Can anyone remember when you first read and understood " there is only one of us" health insurance. Perhaps there was a good feeling. It changed your perspective on a lot of things. Perhaps you became excited when you realised there is really no point in judgeing because you will only be judging yourself. And when you focused more on this new perspective, when you focused more and more on not judging you slowly forgot again that there is only one of us.

"There is only one of us". It sounds vague when you focus on it. But I believe (In a morpheous accent :D ) that the whole point of CwG is to give just this message. To allow you experience it and thus know it. There is no other message. Before most of us read CwG, most of us had the understanding that "one of us" just meant all of us working together. All of us seeing the same way. But CwG grips you with ideas and solutions to your problems and leads you slowly to a new understanding of " there is only one of us". There is really only one of us and I am here to know myself through my diversity.

It is me
